GRACE + ROHAN

Grace Speight and Rohan Murray affectionately dubbed their wedding the Love Fest.
Sharing a fun day with their loved ones was the ultimate goal for the pair, who carefully planned their special day to ensure enjoyment for all.
The laughs began early morning when Grace’s sister gave her her own wedding veil to wear during a run through at Ocean Grove.
“We all wore our ‘bride’ and ‘bridesmaid’ tops and looked like gooses as we ran around with the veil flowing in the wind,” Grace, a primary school teacher, remembers.
“People tooted and cheered – it was fantastic.”
The colourful festivities continued at the nuptials, where Grace and Rohan said their “I dos” at At The Heads in front of 117 guests.
Brightly-hued blooms and confetti
provided bursts of colour for the ceremony, and at the reception there was striking stationery, table settings, and cute drawings from Grace’s Year 3 students.
The couple surprised guests with a meat tray raffle, bathroom treats and donut bonbonnières, and laughed along to the hilarious speeches – including Rohan’s where he sang a Celine Dion song.
While there was plenty of fun, sentiment also played a special role, with Grace’s mum secretly organising for the bridal bouquets to be wrapped in ribbon made from the hem of her wedding dress.
“Being a bride of the ‘70s, Mum’s wedding dress wasn’t a traditional white gown, but rather a divine green, blue and purple floral maxi dress,” Grace says.
“My sister and I knew straight away what the fabric was and how special it was, and it brought tears to all of our eyes when our flowers arrived on wedding morning.”
