Sophie Amezdroz and Marty Kelly planned their breathtaking winter wedding in just six months.
A surprise proposal six months before an already-booked European adventure prompted the Belmont architects to turn their holiday into a month-long honeymoon, and hold their wedding before departing.
The couple, who were long-time family friends before making it official while studying at the same university in 2008, changed their plans when romantic Marty popped the question.
“We’d just bought our first home together and soon after moving in Marty had set up a marquee outside with a picnic under it,” Sophie smiles.
Sophie and Marty’s suppliers were quick to lend a hand in planning the finer details in their short timeframe.
The bride’s elegant long-sleeved lace gown was one of the last designs by bridal designer Jane Hill, who passed away shortly afterwards.
Jane helped Sophie style her look from head to toe. She suggested the plum tones for her bouquets, sourced her earrings and recommended a make-up artist.
“She had impeccable taste and was always there for advice along the way,” Sophie says.
