Emma Richardson and Daniel Scott dreaded the thought that their wedding day would fly by.
With their married friends constantly telling them “the day goes so fast”, the pair decided to make the day last as long as possible by holding two receptions at their March 23 nuptials.
“We cleverly managed to have both functions cost the same price as one,” Emma says.
The pair’s 104 guests watched as they tied the knot at The Cosmopolitan Hotel gardens in Trentham.
Emma, who radiated elegance in a Karen Willis Holmes gown, is fast to pinpoint her favourite moment of the nuptials.
“When our celebrant said he may kiss the bride, Daniel surprised me by taking a 50 cent piece out of his pocket,” she explains.
“It was his way of reliving our first kiss – I jokingly got him to kiss me the same way nine years earlier.”
Following the ceremony, there was a sit-down lunch reception at the stables of the same venue.
“Here, we had most of the formalities including speeches and our first dance,” Emma says.
Loved ones were then ushered to the second reception – a cocktail evening soiree at Frangos & Frangos in Daylesford.
Oversized lettering spelt out ‘Em & Dan’, there were heart-shaped sugar cubes at the tea station and the venue was beautifully decorated throughout by creative Emma.
