Personal touches made for a wedding day from the heart for Beck Barker and Liam Power.
The Newtown couple craftily added their unique stamp with handmade matchbox rice throwers, hand-sewn bunting and locally-sourced vintage furniture.
Wine bottles read ‘I love Liam’ or ‘I love Beck’, a cake was traded for a piñata and together the pair painted a striking, colourful mural on the wall at their reception with 90 loved ones in Liam’s parents’ backyard shed.
Liam, who proposed to Beck with a romantic message written in the sand at Byron Bay, included his own secret personal spin by arranging a Kombi van to escort his bride to the ceremony of their April 20 wedding at The Old Monastery.
“It was really cute to step outside and see the Kombi,” smiles Beck, who wore a stunning cap-sleeved gown by Nicolangela.
The bride says she will treasure the extra time she allocated for the couple to spend with their bridal party.
“We wanted to relax and take it all in, so we booked a table at Customs House just after the photos so we could have a drink and reflect on the day,” she says. Liam agrees: “The day goes so quickly, so try and take time out with your bride to soak it all in.”
