Giant letters spelling ‘Love’ only further amplified the abundance of romance in the air at Jessica Shay and Christian Tuccio’s wedding.
The gorgeous backdrop at their ceremony set the scene for a dreamy day for the Hamlyn Heights couple, who met during high school.
Christian popped the question to his girlfriend of seven years when they moved into a new home together.
“When I walked through the doors, a Charles Rose box with the ring I had been eyeing off in the store window for months was sitting on the kitchen bench,” Jessica smiles.
The pair married at Barwon Edge Boathouse on February 1 in front of 145 guests.
Close friend Jamie McGuane sang a heart-warming rendition of Elton John’s Your Song as Jessica walked her down the aisle.
It was Jessica’s grandfather Ladislav who gave her away, as her father Aaron passed away 12 years ago. To honour her father, Jessica had a photo of him on her bouquet.
“It was a simple touch – sort of like he walked me down the aisle in spirit,” she says.
Proud newlywed Christian smiles as he looks back on the big day.
“All the theatrics like the dresses, suits, cakes, speeches and everything else aside, it was about us, and it was perfect,” he says.
